Travel like a local and experience first hand the traditions and norms of local living in the 19 days Uganda Game and Cultural Tour

Day 1: Arrival

Our company guide will welcome you to the country at the air port and take you to your hotel. There he will brief you on the tour your about to take. Rest, have dinner and over night. Grand Imperial Hotel / Cassia Lodge/ Basic Holiday Express Hotel.

Day 2: Ndere Centre

Have breakfast, head for the Ndere Centre to experience a thrilling welcome entertainment from at the Ndere Centre in Kampala. Return for your overnight at Grand Imperial Hotel / Cassia Lodge/ Basic Holiday Express Hotel.

Day 3: Participate in Cultural Activities

The Spacious Gardens are ideal for all activities from picnics, to parties and retreats. Spend this day training in different Ugandan cultural activities. These will include cooking traditional foods, traditional dancing, dressing in traditional attire and courtship the Ugandan style. The guides will explain the details of the origins of the all the cultural activities you will indulge in. Over night at Grand Imperial Hotel / Cassia Lodge/ Basic Holiday Express Hotel.

Day 4: Watch Cultural Dancing Competition and Koi Koi

Have breakfast, go back to the Ndere Cultural center for various competitions amongst the entertainers. The winners are awarded prizes and certificates. Experience the passionate Sparks when Africa’s Ancient bonfire (idiomatic) story telling and riddles collide with rap and jazz during the Koi Koi every starting at 7pm. Dinner and overnight at Grand Imperial Hotel / Cassia Lodge/ Basic Holiday Express Hotel.

Day 5: Eastern Uganda

Have breakfast and head to Jinja to visit the source of the Nile from where you will move to Bujagali falls. At Bujagali falls there are many optional activities like floating down on the challenging rapids and relaxing on the shores of the Nile, Bungee Jumping, rafting and many others. Drive to Tororo in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Tororo Rock Hotel.

Day 6: Tororo Rock

After breakfast, go for a hike on the Tororo Rock hill. The highest altitude of the Tororo rock is 4865ft with a ramp of about 0.75 from the east to the west. Visit the cave and the various Rock paintings. Have Lunch, transfer to Mbale. Visit the Sipi falls. Sipi is an ideal place to relax in the warm mountain sun. Transfer to Lucum Lodge for dinner and over night.

Day 7: Transfer to Kampala

Have breakfast, head for Kampala. Dinner and overnight at Grand Imperial Hotel / Cassia Lodge/ Basic Holiday Express Hotel.

Day 8: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Have breakfast and drive to Murchison Falls National Park. You will have lunch en route. Proceed to the Park. Dinner and overnight at Paara safari Lodge.

Day 9: Game Drive and launch Cruise

Have breakfast and go for a hike to the to of the falls. Enjoy a game drive through the park to the north of the Nile, elephant, buffalo, giraffe and a variety of antelope are regularly encountered on game drives, while lion are seen with increasing frequency. After lunch, you will take a boat to the bottom of the falls. An exciting cruise with lots of hippos, the most feared Nile crocodiles, elephants and the lovely bird species along. Evening relax and listen in more of the African evening stories.

Day 10: Transfer to Fort Portal

Have breakfast continue to Hoima, Visit the Kings Palace and have lunch at Kolping hotel. The Entogoro cultural dancers will entertain you. After this you proceed to Fort Portal. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon Hotel.

Day 11: Kibale forest

Start early for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale forest is the most accessible of Uganda’s major rainforests. Kibale is home to a remarkable 13 primate species, including the very localized red colobus and L’Hoest’s monkey. Kibale’s major attraction, however, is the opportunity to track habituated chimpanzees – these delightful apes, are tremendous fun to watch as they squabble and play in fruiting trees. Have lunch and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.

Day 12: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Go for an early morning game drive in the park. Early game drives are known to produce good sights of the members of the cat family. This park is known for its open savannah, rainforest, from dense papyrus swamps and brooding crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward, it is little wonder that QENP boasts one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game reserve in the world. Almost 100 mammal species and a remarkable 606 bird species makes this superb safari territory, with elephant, a profusion of hippos, the elusive giant forest hog and handsome Uganda Kob all regularly sighted around the tourist village on the Mweya Peninsula – which also boasts a marvelous waterfront setting in the shadow of the Rwenzori Mountains. In the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise on Kazinga channel. Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge

Day 13: Game Drive a Visit to the Salt Lake

Have breakfast and then a morning game drive which will reward you with chance to see Elephants, Buffaloes, antelopes like water bucks among others. In the afternoon visit the Katwe salt works. See the indigenous technology of extracting salt. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari lodge

Day 14: Traditional Activities

Participating in the real African Wedding ceremony. After breakfast at the hotel, travel to Bunyaruguru to join the local women and men in the preparation of a rural wedding ceremony. Here the whole group will participate in the activities. These include peeling bananas, fetching fire wood, constructing sheds, fetching water from the streams, and any other activities that will be identified. The group shall be divided into small groups each undertaking different activities. The activities shall be announced and the group members are free to choose where they have interest. We go back to the Hotel in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Myeya Safari lodge.

Day 15: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest

The national park has 90 mammal species, including 11 primates, of which the black-and-white colobus, with its lovely flowing white tail is prominent and gorillas. The forest birding ranks with the best in Uganda, with 23 highly localized Albertine Rift endemics present. Dinner and overnight at Engagi Lodge/ Gorilla Resort camp/ Buhoma Community Bandas.

Day 16: Gorilla tracking.

Gorilla tracking is an awesome tour activity. It involves walking in the wilderness in search for these great endangered apes. It can be a challenging activity, therefore ensure physical fitness. Evening entertainment by the Pygmies (Batwa).
Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 17: Transfer to Lake Mburo National park

You will be transferred to Lake Mburo national park. Have lunch. Take a canoe Ride as you wait for dinner and over night at Mantana Tented camp/ Mihingo Lodge.

Day 18: Lake Mburo National park

Have breakfast and drive to Lake Mburo National Park for a game drive. And proceed to Kampala. Lunch at Hotel Brovad Masaka. Shopping souvenirs at the Cultural Center handcrafts.

Day 19: Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Viewing

The boat takes about 45 minutes across to Ngamba Island, crossing the Equator en-route. On arrival at the island, home to 39 chimpanzees, you will be given a short introduction and briefing on the sanctuary. After which, its feeding time! It is interesting to watch the chimpanzees interact with each other and with their keepers. Return to the main land drive to Entebbe Wildlife Education Centre (zoo). Here they have simulated some of the country’s conservation zones such as savannah, wetlands and tropical forest. If you have not managed to see the shoebill in the wild you are certain a sighting here, as well as rhino. You will then be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
